YO’GRT part one is finally finished!!!

This took far longer than I had assumed. I started yesterday at around noon and finished getting it ready to be posted at 11:40 pm today. During this ordeal, I can definitely see where I may have messed up. Firstly, for some reason I decided that each Yo’grt should have a theme. This is not something I had settled on doing till after I had finished my first review. So cue me trying to hunt down titles that fit the theme only to realize that only two of the books I had already read fit the criteria. Suddenly I found myself scouring various lists trying to find other stories that I could read be finished before the assignment came due.

So yeah, I will definitely be preparing better for next time because I absolutely refuse to put myself through that again.

However, a major plus that came from it is that I managed to accomplish one of my reading goals. When I look for books to read, I typically stick to what I know. What I mean by this is that I check sites like Goodreads recommended after finishing lists to find my next fix. Often, it works, but more often than not, it doesn’t. Even though I consider myself an avid reader, I am actually picky about the books I get. I don’t put much effort into finding something new unless it’s fanfiction or manga. For this, I actually took the time to check some bestseller lists and even looked to see what bookstores were promoting. This enabled me to find stories some amazing stories that I am actually excited to read. Something I never thought I would do unless it were required by school or work. And yes, this is for a class, but at no point did my professor tell us to go out and look at these lists. In fact, I am pretty sure she just told us to go out and prosper. But that might be because I have been reading a crazy amount of Star Trek fanfiction and may have mixed up a few messages. Either way, it is what it is.
